Troubleshooting

Problems with the lock file
Lock file exists, details are:
Interim Patch 3312043 is holding the lock from this patch 3109312,
probably due to previous unsuccessful operation

ERROR: OPatch failed during pre-reqs check.

delete file under $ORACLE_HOME/.patch_storage/patch_locked

 

How to download the latest OPATCH version
Do not use Opatch 10 version against 9i databases, because of an old java version used (1.3)

To download the opatch from metalink: 
- Click on the Patches button 
- 
Click on the "New Metalink Patch Search " 
- If you are not on the "Simple 
Search" screen, click on the 
"Simple Search" button 
- Select "Search by" 
= Patch number, enter the patch number 2617419 
and hit "Go" 

You may 
het more than 1 hit, download the latest updated version, you can see the 
"UPDATED" column . 

OPatch tool works with Perl 5.005_03 or higher. OPatch also requires
JDK to be present in the Oracle Home. It requires JDK versions of 
1.3.1 or higher for proper functioning.
If you don't have Perl, you can download Perl from Metalink
(http://metalink.oracle.com) using Bug 2417872
